Chattx / Gulfton Storytrail Artists
Houston’s street art scene is thriving with creators who capture the spirit of the city with their extraordinary eye and undeniable skill. Nine talented Houston artists were brought together to bring the colorful poetry of Gulfton students and residents to the forefront of the neighborhood. Using mixed mediums and varying personal styles, the artists collaborated to make Gulfton a haven for art and culture.

Alex Arzú
Alex “Zú” Arzú is a Houston-based muralist and tattoo artist who was born in Germany to two Afro-Honduran immigrants. While he enjoys excelling in all forms of artistic expression, Arzú finds that art is about the creation itself and not the medium. His goal is to produce art that inspires viewers to have their own unique experience. Arzú, a graduate of the University of Houston, had a four-year-long stint as an architect before becoming a well-known local artist. He has since worked with influential brands such as Coca-Cola, singer Willie Nelson, MTV Cribs, and more.

His childlike wonder materialized into an artistic journey that would lead him to find his voice as a painter at art festivals and graffiti shows in the early 90s. An admirer of classic graffiti, the Monterrey-based artist uses letters and characters to create compelling large-scale murals and canvas paintings. Eliud has lectured and exhibited across the Mexican Republic, and his work has been reflected in cities around the globe.
