Refugee families struggle to continue learning during stay at home order | Fox 26 | 4/7/2020
CHAT is reaching out to immigrant and refugee students and their families to help them with their homeschooling efforts during the school closures. Dr. Aisha Siddiqui spoke with Fox 26 Houston about the challenges facing these families during the current health crisis.
Refugee and immigrant families in Houston are facing additional barriers. “They were already struggling with the homework and now with online, it’s even more difficult,” said Aisha Siddiqui, founder of the non-profit Culture of Health – Advancing Together, or CHAT. She founded the organization in 2015 to help refugees and immigrants through access to education and healthcare.
