Job Title: Program Coordinator

Company: Culture of Health-Advancing Together (CHAT)

Location: Gulfton area of Southwest Houston

About CHAT: CHAT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping immigrants and refugees acclimate to American culture through education, arts, access to care, and advocacy.

Purpose of the Role: The Program Coordinator will oversee programs and activities for our organization. They will be tasked with managing the programs and assisting the Executive Director in achieving the organization’s short-term and long-term goals. The successful candidate will also write grants, develop budgets and operating plans for programs, and maintain data for CHAT’s programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizing daily activities based on the organization’s goals.
  • Monitoring projects and overseeing project coordinators to ensure goals are met.
  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for progressing with the project.
  • Serving as a point of contact to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed.
  • Evaluating and assessing the programs’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Meeting with the Executive Director to discuss program status and goals.
  • Communicating with the Executives Director to keep the projects aligned with their goals.
  • Maintaining data for CHAT’s programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Indicators:

  • Increase in program participation.
  • Increase in funding through grant writing.
  • Positive feedback from program participants and stakeholders.
  • Successful completion of program goals and objectives.
  • Meeting or exceeding budget targets.
  • Successful coordination and execution of programs.
  • Quality and quantity of work produced.
  • Meeting milestones and deadlines of projects as assigned.
  • Attendance and punctuality.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or similar academic field (experience may be accepted in place of the degree)
  • At least two years of professional experience in the nonprofit sector
  • Excellent analytical skills, observation, and analysis capacity
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including MS Word, Excel), Gmail
  • Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission, and vision of CHAT
  • Excellent writing, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or another language is preferable
  • A proven effective leader and the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to communicate openly and maintain a good relationship with the team, collaborators, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work with a diverse population.
  • Responsive, motivated, and willing to take responsibility.
  • Ability to cope with stress, adhere to deadlines, and respect line management.
  • Attention to detail and structured way of approaching tasks (well organized), and to plan and result-oriented (proactive)
  • Practical and a problem-solver

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday – flexible hours
  • Some Weekends
