Program Manager, Rice University Kinder Institute for Urban Research

Katie Wang is a Program Manager at Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research. She is responsible for managing the Community Bridges program and facilitating the Houston Community Data Connections (HCDC) program via community outreach efforts, relationship building with clients and partner organizations and monitoring of research and data service requests. Prior to joining the Kinder Institute, Katie researched performing arts organizations as part of the Building Audiences for Sustainability initiative based at the University of Texas. Before that, she supported interfaith research and advocacy efforts as an associate policy analyst at Texas Impact, a statewide religious grassroots network. Katie earned a Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Latin American Studies and Plan II Honors at the University of Texas. In her free time, Katie rock climbs, runs, paints, tends to her growing collection of houseplants, reads lots of historical fiction, and partakes in the infinite amount of delicious food that Houston has to offer.
