Back to School!
Friends, it’s that time again. Families in our local region have sent their children back to school for a new school year – in some cases returning to a classroom for the first time since 2020.
At CHAT we understand that for some families who we serve in the Gulfton community, returning to school also presents a new set of challenges. Parents who are still feeling the impacts of a global pandemic must buy the essential school supplies necessary for their children to attend class. Students who have struggled to keep up with online learning will now have to catch up as best they can to stay at grade level with their peers.
Not to mention, the dozens of families who continue to struggle just to put food on the table.
It’s enough to make a challenging situation daunting. With your support, however, CHAT can continue to meet the needs of families and individuals directly – by meeting them where they are right now and helping them to move forward.
Coinciding with the start of the new school year, our CHAT Academy and Girls Club for Success programs will once again be taking place inside and outside of local schools in the area. All the while our dedicated team of public health volunteers and staff continue to operate our year-round programs and services for families and adults. Not the least of which are our COVID-19 multilingual outreach efforts. If you can help, please consider making a gift today.
